TRACK GUIDE
Horse & Jockey has been home to the Premier point-to-point since 2002 and is a fair track.
Runners begin early in the back straight from where they have a decent run to the first of three fences on this section of the course. The track begins to rise after landing over that opening obstacle, before levelling out somewhat after the second fence, before climbing once again to the third. Quickly entering the long left-handed bend into the home straight at the highest point on the course at fence four, this fence comes up quickly out of the bend.
There is a long run on the flat in between the final two fences, with a very small decline from the second-last up to the elbow which sits just before the final obstacle, with a short run-in following.
None other than 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition fell on debut at the course, whilst winners of the four-year-old maiden have included 2012 Aintree National-third Seabass (2007), Listed Chase winner Home Farm (2011) and 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Minella Rocco (2014).

Horse and Jockey is a good track that has a nice reputation for producing good four-year-old`s. But I think it is a place where it is very important to jump the fences along the back straight well before you go into the bottom bend.
You need a good position going into that bottom bend, as when you climb over that hill and jump the second-last fence, if you haven`t got a good position by that point, you could be out of luck unless you have a very good horse.
